Rome: Some 650,000 families are currently on waiting lists for public housing in Italy, highlighting a significant housing crisis in the country. The report, released by builders’ association ANCE, draws on data from national statistics agency Istat.
According to Ansa News Agency, the report reveals that around one third of families who rent their homes allocate 40% of their income to housing costs. Moreover, it highlights that more than 21 million people reside in metropolitan cities across Italy, with over two million families expressing a desire to relocate.
