Rome: Italy has appointed an ambassador to Yemen as a demonstration of support for the legitimate authorities battling against Houthi rebels, announced Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. This decision was made during the latest cabinet meeting, underscoring Italy’s commitment to its allies in the Gulf region amidst the ongoing conflict between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia.

According to Ansa News Agency, Tajani, who also serves as deputy premier, shared this development during an interview with journalist Bruno Vespa at the Alis General Assembly. Tajani emphasized that Iran’s realization of the disadvantages of continued aggression could lead to a cessation of Houthi attacks.
