Italy Achieves Historic 73-6 Victory Over Namibia in Rugby Test

Windhoek: Italy secured their largest away victory in rugby history by defeating Namibia 73-6 in the first of their three summer tests. The match, held in Windhoek, saw Italy, known as the Azzurri, score 11 tries against their opponents.

According to Ansa News Agency, the Azzurri’s performance included tries from players Trulla, who scored three, Marin, Gesi, Menoncello, Fusco, Spagnolo, and Varney. Additionally, two penalty tries were awarded by Welsh referee Brace due to irregularities committed by the Namibian team.

This encounter follows the teams’ latest meeting during the 2023 World Cup, where Italy triumphed with a 52-8 win. The current tour will continue with two more matches against South Africa, scheduled for July 5 in Pretoria and July 12 in Port Elizabeth.
