Italians Urged to Evacuate Mali Amid Fuel Blockade by Terrorists

Rome: The Italian foreign ministry has issued a warning to its citizens, advising them to leave Mali due to an escalating blockade of fuel supplies by terrorist groups. This blockade poses a significant threat to safety in the African nation, impacting crucial services such as electricity.

According to Ansa News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that terrorist groups have significantly obstructed fuel supplies on all routes leading to Mali. This has resulted in a severe fuel shortage across the country, which is critically affecting the electricity supply. The ministry warned that the situation could further deteriorate the security situation, particularly in the capital city, Bamako.

The foreign ministry’s message was clear, advising against any travel to Mali due to the heightened tensions linked to these pressing issues. Italian nationals currently in Mali have been strongly encouraged to evacuate the country at the earliest opportunity.
