Italians Trust Mattarella But Not Political Parties, Survey Reveals
Rome: Italians trust President Sergio Mattarella but don’t have much confidence in their political parties, national statistics institute Istat said Wednesday, confirming previous surveys.
According to Ansa News Agency, almost 70% of Italians said they trusted the head of State in the latest survey, down slightly on the last one in 2023. Just one in five Italians voiced faith in parties, about the same as the 2023 study.
Three quarters of respondents had confidence in the police, slightly down on last time, while faith in the fire brigade was steady at 90%.
