Italian in WFP Ukraine Convoy Hit, Unharmed Says Tajani

Kyiv: An Italian official was in a World Food Programme convoy hit by a Russian attack in Ukraine Tuesday but he is unhurt, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said.

According to Ansa News Agency, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, who is also the deputy premier, expressed his strong condemnation of the Russian attack on the WFP convoy in Ukraine. The convoy included an Italian official who fortunately escaped without injury. Tajani emphasized that attacks on civilians, hospitals, and humanitarian workers are unacceptable and called for Russia to cease its violence and start acting responsibly.

“My solidarity with the UN, its staff, and the Ukrainian people,” Tajani stated, highlighting the need for international support and unity in the face of ongoing aggression. The incident underscores the risks faced by humanitarian efforts in conflict zones and the urgent need for global diplomatic interventions.
