Italian Families’ Average Spending to Reach £22,144 Per Capita by 2025
Rome: Average spending by Italian families is projected to rise to £22,144 per capita in 2025, marking an increase of £239 compared to 2025 prices. However, this figure remains below the peak spending level of £22,334 recorded in 2007.
According to Ansa News Agency, the data, which was released by Confcommercio based on Istat’s findings, includes “imputed rent” for residential housing within the consumption calculations. Confcommercio highlighted that over the past thirty years, there has been a notable increase in spending on technology and leisure activities, in contrast to a decline in expenditures on food and energy.
In particular, the retail association pointed out that per capita spending on computers and phones has skyrocketed by nearly 3,000% over the past three decades, underscoring the significant shift in consumer priorities and spending habits in Italy.
