Italian Design Takes Center Stage at Spazio-D in Almaty

Almaty: sPAZIO-D (DNA MADE IN ITALY), an area adjacent to the Italian Cultural Institute of Almaty, has launched its first promotional module dedicated to Italian design. Managed by the Embassy of Asthana and the Italian Cultural Institute with support from Ice, the 130-metre space hosted three distinct events featuring installations from participating companies.

According to Ansa News Agency, the first event focused on business through a cultural lens, showcasing three Italian brands: Cerasa, Graniti Fiandre, and Stella Rubinetterie. Around 100 interior designers, selected with the assistance of Ice, attended the presentation. Speakers included architect Marco Poletti, collaborating with Aziz Abdulmazhitov of Art Guild and Graniti Fiandre, Monica De Riz from Cerasa, Andrei Gringiuk of Graniti Fiandre, and Rocco Ubertini from Stella Rubinetterie.

The second event facilitated new collaborations between companies and interior designers. It featured a masterclass titled ‘Bathroom Trends 2025: creative ideas’ led by architects Domenico Rotolo and Marco Poletti, attended by professor Giangabriele Fini and about 80 university students specializing in architecture and design.

During the final event, Ms. Gala Makeyeva presented the three installations set up in Spazio-D to an audience of designers and university students.
