Italian Arrested for Accessing Jihadist Websites

Perugia: A 24-year-old Italian without a criminal record was arrested Monday on suspicion of accessing jihadist websites, police said.

According to Ansa News Agency, thousands of files regarding manuals for the construction of weapons and explosive devices, as well as other material proving his progressive radicalization, were seized from the man. The arrest was carried out by Perugia police in coordination with the local prosecutor’s office.

The young man was identified as part of a collaboration with the FBI. This collaboration involved tracking IP addresses of individuals who accessed sites believed to be linked to jihadist organizations. These sites were dedicated to propaganda, proselytism, recruitment, and teaching techniques for creating explosive devices.
