Italian Ambassador Bartoli Opens New IICCI Office in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad: Italian Ambassador to India Antonio Bartoli inaugurated the regional office of the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) in Ahmedabad, the capital of Gujarat. The event was attended by IICCI Vice President Tarun Pandey, local government officials, and representatives from Gujarat’s business and economic community.
According to Ansa News Agency, Bartoli highlighted the presence of about 60 Italian companies already operating in Gujarat, spanning various sectors such as textiles, chemicals, construction materials, and ceramics. He emphasized the opportunities to enhance trade and investment between Italy and India. “Italy and India share a deep partnership rooted in innovation, design, and the ability to do business. With the opening of the IICCI office in Ahmedabad, we build a new bridge for a collaboration that will benefit the business communities of both countries,” Bartoli stated.
Gujarat, known as the home state of iconic figures like Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel, is a main
hub for India’s textile industry and is recognized for its dynamic and innovative economic environment. As the country’s third-largest economy, Gujarat boasts an average annual growth rate of 10 percent over the past decade. The state exports approximately $150 billion annually, accounting for a quarter of India’s national exports, and continues to attract significant investment and business ventures.
Founded in 1966, IICCI is a bilateral organization recognized by the Indian government to promote cross-border investment between Italy and India. It has established a network of offices across major Indian cities, including Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and now Ahmedabad.
