Ita Airways Reports First Positive EBIT of 3 Million Euros in 2024

Rome: Ita Airways has announced a milestone achievement with its operating result turning positive for the first time in 2024, closing at 3 million euros. This development marks a significant turnaround for the airline, which was formerly known as Alitalia. The company attributes this success to strong operational and commercial performance, surpassing the forecasts outlined in its Industrial Plan. Notably, this positive outcome was achieved without the synergies from its association with the Lufthansa group. The board of directors gave the green light to the consolidated budget project for the 2024 financial year during a meeting on March 27.

According to Ansa News Agency, Ita Airways reported revenues of 3.1 billion euros in the last fiscal year. The airline also recorded a gross operating margin of 337 million euros. However, despite the positive operating result, the net result stood at a negative 227 million euros.

The airline’s cash account is reported to hold 476 million euros, indicating a stable fi
nancial footing as it moves forward into the next fiscal period.
