Vatican city: Israeli President Isaac Herzog assured Pope Leo XIV during an audience at the Vatican that Israel is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of Christian communities in the Holy Land. Herzog emphasized that Israel is taking all possible measures to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas.
According to Ansa News Agency, Herzog expressed Israel’s aspiration for a future where the peoples of the Middle East, described as the Children of Abraham, coexist in peace, cooperation, and hope. He urged leaders of faith and goodwill worldwide to unite in demanding the immediate release of the hostages, describing it as a critical step towards a brighter future for the region.
