Rome: Israel risks jeopardizing the two-state solution to the Middle East crisis with its announcement of new settlements cutting swathe across the West Bank, Premier Giorgia Meloni said Thursday. “Italy condemns the Israeli decision to authorize new settlements in the West Bank,” Meloni said in a statement.

According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni further expressed that this decision is contrary to international law. She emphasized that it risks definitively compromising the two-state solution and, more generally, the political prospects for achieving a just and lasting peace.
