Rome: Premier Giorgia Meloni and Valdis Dombrovskis, European Commissioner for Economy, Productivity, Implementation, and Simplification, engaged in talks on Friday about the interaction between the EU’s Stability and Growth Pact and increased defence spending, as stated by Meloni’s office at Palazzo Chigi.

According to Ansa News Agency, the discussion also covered the outlook for both the European and global economy, emphasizing the significance of promoting business competitiveness and the associated process of simplifying EU legislation. Particular attention was given to how the implementation of the Stability and Growth Pact interrelates with the rising security expenditure.
