IMF Reduces Italy’s 2025 GDP Growth Forecast to 0.4%
Rome: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced a revision of its 2025 GDP growth forecast for Italy, decreasing it to 0.4%. This marks a 0.3 percentage point reduction from its previous estimate made in January.
According to Ansa News Agency, the IMF also adjusted its growth forecast for 2026, lowering it by 0.1 percentage point to 0.8%. This revision is part of a broader adjustment affecting many countries, attributed to uncertainty over tariffs.
The IMF’s estimates for other European economies have also been adjusted. For Germany, the growth forecast for this year has been reduced to zero, with a 0.9% growth expected in 2026. France’s economy is projected to grow by 0.6% in 2025 and 1.0% in 2026. Meanwhile, the UK’s GDP is anticipated to rise by 1.1% this year and by 1.4% in 2026.
