Budapest: House Speaker László Kövér emphasized that Hungary stands as an “island of peace, security and normality” amidst a world fraught with danger.
According to About Hungary, Kövér addressed participants at the Hungarian Diaspora Council and the Hungarian Standing Conference (Maert) on Wednesday, affirming the nation’s consistent support for its people. He stated that as long as Hungary maintains a government focused on national interests, citizens can rely on the motherland. Kövér reassured attendees that Hungary equally depends on their support and engagement.
Kövér highlighted Hungary’s longstanding belief that European citizens should prioritize “peace, democracy and prosperity” over alternatives like “war, dictatorship and impoverishment.” He argued that Hungarians have advocated for a regime change in the Western world, suggesting that any political system undermining the people’s interests should be replaced.
He noted that the United States is experiencing such a transformation and predicted si
milar changes might occur within the European Union.
