Budapest: Gergely Gulyás, Head of the Prime Minister’s Office, stated that the Tisza party represents the position of the European Commission and the European People’s Party “in exchange for support from Brussels”.
According to About Hungary, Gulyás, while responding to a question regarding the opposition party’s role in the European Union, mentioned that following the European parliamentary debate, it became evident that Brussels openly intends to interfere in Hungarian domestic politics and has a protege in the form of the Tisza party.
Gulyás further added that the “price” of Brussels’ support is that whenever Hungarian interests conflict with those of the EC and EPP, the Tisza party is likely to align with the latter, interpreting Hungarian interests in a more flexible manner.
