Great Concern for Resumption of Hostilities in Gaza-Meloni

Rome: Premier Giorgia Meloni on Tuesday voiced great concern for the resumption of hostilities in Gaza. “We are following with great concern the resumption of fighting in Gaza, which jeopardizes the objectives we are all working towards, the release of all hostages and a permanent end to hostilities, as well as the restoration of full humanitarian assistance in the Strip”, Meloni said in a briefing to the Senate in view of this week’s European Council.

According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni’s statement underscores the urgency of addressing the escalating situation in Gaza. The premier emphasized the importance of achieving a permanent ceasefire and ensuring that humanitarian aid reaches those in need within the region. Her comments highlight the broader international efforts aimed at securing peace and stability in the area, alongside the critical goal of freeing hostages. The briefing to the Senate comes ahead of significant discussions at the European Council, where the issue is expected to be a key agenda item.
