Gramsci’s ‘Southern Question’ Published in Albania
Tirana: The Italian Cultural Institute and the Gramsci Foundation Puglia have introduced the Albanian edition of Antonio Gramsci’s essay, ‘The Southern Question,’ translated by Alfred Bushi.
According to Ansa News Agency, the profound societal shifts over recent decades have failed to eradicate the Southern question, which continues to be a pivotal issue within Italian society. The persistent challenges in the nation’s economic progression, such as the lack of modern employment opportunities for southern workers, the underutilization of intellectual resources, and the decline in agricultural productivity, all stem from this unresolved question.
These writings by Gramsci highlight the Southern question as a critical issue that impacts the state’s responsibilities and fundamental structure. The significance of this publication is underscored by its presentation, which will take place today at 5 pm at the Tirana Times Bookshop.
