Govt Announces Over 19,000 Civil-Service Hires Across Italy


ROME: The Italian government has approved a significant recruitment initiative with plans to hire over 19,000 individuals in the public sector. Civil Service Minister Paolo Zangrillo confirmed the development on Thursday, marking a substantial increase in personnel across various sectors.

According to Ansa News Agency, Minister Zangrillo signed a decree to facilitate the recruitment of 19,615 people. A significant portion of these hires, totaling 16,663, will strengthen Italy’s ‘security sector.’ This includes new positions within the Carabinieri, Finance, Penitentiary, State police forces, and the National Fire Brigade Corps.

The decree aims to bolster Italy’s public service capabilities by addressing current staffing needs and enhancing the effectiveness of essential services.
