Gigi Riva’s Granddaughter Graduates with Unique Thesis on Legendary Grandfather

Cagliari: The granddaughter of the late Italy and Cagliari football legend Gigi Riva has made headlines by graduating from Cagliari University with a distinctive thesis centered on her iconic grandfather. Her work focused on Riva’s steadfast loyalty to Cagliari, as he consistently turned down lucrative offers from major northern Italian clubs such as Juventus, Inter, and AC Milan, choosing instead to remain with the island club he cherished.

According to Ansa News Agency, Virginia Alma Riva, the daughter of Riva’s first-born son Nicola, titled her thesis “Not Everything Has A Price: Marketing Between Ethics, Myth and Integrity.” The thesis delves into the themes of ethics and integrity in sports marketing, using her grandfather’s career choices as a case study. Gigi Riva, affectionately known as Rombo di Tuono (Thunderbolt) for his powerful left-footed shot, passed away at the age of 79 in January of last year.
