Furlani Wins Long Jump Gold at Indoor Worlds


Nanjing: Italy’s Mattia Furlani on Sunday won the long jump gold at the indoor worlds at Nanjing. Furlani, 20, who has a Senegalese mother, achieved this feat after previously earning a bronze medal at last year’s Olympics in Paris.



According to Ansa News Agency, Furlani secured his gold medal with a leap of 8.30 meters, which he achieved on his second attempt in the competition. The silver medal was awarded to Jamaican athlete Wayne Pinnock, who recorded a jump of 8.29 meters. Australian Liam Adcock claimed the bronze medal with a leap of 8.28 meters.
