Flotilla Asks Institutions to Be ‘Responsible’

Gaza: The Global Sumud Flotilla, which is nearing an interception zone as part of its mission to deliver aid to Gaza despite an Israeli naval blockade, has called on institutions to be “responsible.” This request comes in response to repeated appeals from Premier Giorgia Meloni for the Flotilla to demonstrate “responsibility” by abandoning its attempt to breach the blockade.

According to Ansa News Agency, Maria Elena Delia, spokesperson for the Italian delegation of the Flotilla, expressed her views on the matter. Delia remarked, “I always hear a lot of things about the activists aboard the Sumud Flotilla; they’re called irresponsible and told it’s time to take responsibility.” She emphasized that it is the institutions that should be held accountable.

Delia questioned why no one asks why the activists risk injury in international waters. She argued that when Israel is involved, typical rules seem to be disregarded. Delia further stated, “The people on board deserve great respect because, after two years of genocide, no government has dared to do anything.”

The Flotilla’s mission continues to spark debate and attention as its members persevere in their efforts to deliver aid to Gaza despite facing significant opposition.
