Fiumicino Voted Best European Airport for Eighth Consecutive Year

Rome: Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci airport, commonly referred to as Fiumicino, has been named the best airport in Europe for 2024 in the category of hubs accommodating over 40 million passengers. This accolade was awarded by Airports Council International (ACI) World, recognizing the superior quality of services provided to travelers.

According to Ansa News Agency, the ‘Giovan Battista Pastine’ Ciampino airport in Rome also received recognition as the best airport in Europe among those handling between 2 and 5 million passengers. Fiumicino achieved an impressive score of 4.61 out of a possible 5 in 2024, securing the top position among 119 European airports evaluated.

In addition to being named Best Airport, Fiumicino was the only international hub, alongside Singapore, to rank at the top in all evaluated sub-categories based on passenger feedback. These categories included Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff in Europe, Easiest Airport Journey in Europe, Most Enjoyable Airport in Europe, and Cleanest Airport in Europe.

Fiumicino, which managed approximately 50 million passengers in 2024, also recorded the highest satisfaction rate among airports with over 25 million travelers annually in regions including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. This was based on the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey conducted by Airports Council International (ACI) World in collaboration with Amadeus, a technology company in the travel sector.
