Federica Brignone Edges Closer to World Cup Triumph with Super-G Victory


Kvitfjell: Italy’s Federica Brignone secured a World Cup Super-G victory in Norway on Sunday, bringing her closer to her second overall World Cup title. Brignone achieved her eighth victory of the season and the record 35th of her career in the Super-G event held in Kvitfjell.

According to Ansa News Agency, the 34-year-old Aosta Valley athlete outperformed Swiss competitor Lara Gut-Behrami, extending her lead in the World Cup standings to 1194 points against Gut-Behrami’s 943. Italy’s success was further highlighted by Sofia Goggia’s third-place finish, marking her 60th career podium, following a series of challenging races.
