Father Dall’Oglio’s Body Discovered in Syrian Mass Grave: Report

Rome: The body of Father Paolo Dall’Oglio, an Italian Jesuit priest who was kidnapped in Syria in 2013, has reportedly been found in a mass grave in the Middle Eastern country: The corpse of a man in religious clothing believed to be that of Father Paolo Dall’Oglio was found in a mass grave near Raqqa in Syria.

According to Ansa News Agency, the discovery was reported by the weekly magazine Oggi. The bishop of Qamishli announced the discovery, which was subsequently confirmed by Cardinal Mario Zenari, the apostolic nuncio in Damascus.

Zenari mentioned, “I was informed last night,” marking a significant development in the case of Father Dall’Oglio, who has been missing for a decade. The confirmation of the discovery has brought closure to a long-standing mystery surrounding the priest’s disappearance.
