Families Set to Spend Big as Winter Sales Begin Across Italy

ROME: Winter sales are set to begin in Italy, with the Valle d’Aosta region kicking off the season on Thursday, followed by the rest of the country on Saturday. Retailers are expecting a significant turnout, with millions of families poised to take advantage of the discounted prices.

According to Ansa News Agency, a survey by the retailers’ association Confcommercio predicts that approximately 16 million families will participate in the winter sales, spending an average of 307 euros per household and 138 euros per person. The sales are anticipated to generate a total turnover of around 4.9 billion euros.

The survey, conducted by the polling institute Ipsos for Confcommercio, indicates that nearly 46% of consumers have already decided to purchase at least one product during the sales. Additionally, 50% of consumers are expected to assess the available offers before making any purchases.

The winter sales present a crucial opportunity for retailers across Italy to boost their revenues, as consumers are eager to find bargains on a wide range of products. With the anticipated high participation, the sales season is expected to provide a significant economic boost to the retail sector.
