Every Effort Being Made for Detained NGO Worker Trentini’s Return to Italy
Rome: Cabinet Undersecretary with the intelligence brief Alfredo Mantovano stated on Tuesday that every effort is being made to bring back to Italy NGO worker Alberto Trentini, who has been detained in Venezuela since last November. “We are today committed to bringing back to his family Alberto Trentini, who has been detained for unclear reasons in Venezuela since last November,” Mantovano said at the presentation of the 2024 intelligence report in Rome.
According to Ansa News Agency, Mantovano further explained, “It is a complex and difficult situation, we have activated all channels and I confirm to the parents that we are investing every effort to make his return possible.” The Italian NGO worker was arrested by Venezuelan authorities on November 15.
Trentini, who hails from Venice and reportedly has a health condition, traveled to Venezuela on October 17 as part of a mission with the international NGO Humanity and Inclusion, which is based in France.
