Equal Dignity for All States Essential – Mattarella in Astana
Astana: Equal dignity for every state is essential, President Sergio Mattarella told his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana Monday. “It is important to refer to all possible efforts to bring peace to the world and to reiterate the importance of multilateralism and the equal dignity of every state,” said the Italian head of State.
According to Ansa News Agency, Mattarella also stressed the importance of accelerating cooperation between Italy and Kazakhstan in innovative sectors. Between Italy and Kazakhstan, he said, there has been “an acceleration in our collaboration, which is particularly intense on the economic level and which we intend to further develop, increase, and accelerate in various sectors, both traditional ones such as transport, energy, and infrastructure, but also innovative ones, such as those that Kazakhstan is fostering so much.”
Mattarella received the Order of Friendship, first degree, Kazakhstan’s highest honour, from Tokayev. The Italian Head of State thanked him and reciprocated by awarding Tokayev the highest honour of the Italian Republic.
