Emilia P©rez Dominates Capri, Hollywood Festival with Six Awards
CAPRI: At the prestigious 29th Capri, Hollywood Festival, the film “Emilia P©rez” emerged as the standout winner, garnering six awards, including best film and best actress for Karla Sofia Gasc³n. The festival, which celebrates international cinema, also recognized “The Brutalist” by Brady Corbet with three awards and honored “Vermiglio” by Maura Delpero as Best International Feature of the Year. This year’s event was co-chaired by veteran actor Franco Nero.
According to Ansa News Agency, “Emilia P©rez” also received accolades for best adapted screenplay, best cast, best makeup and hairstyling, and the Capri Produttori 2024 award, presented to Pascal Caucheteux, Jacques Audiard, Val©rie Schermann, and Anthony Vaccarello. The recognition highlights the film’s impact on the festival circuit, further establishing its prominence in the international film community.
Adrien Brody was named best actor for his role in “The Brutalist,” while the film also secured awards for best photography by Lol Crawley and best soundtrack by Daniel Blumberg. “Conclave” received honors for best director, awarded to Edward Berger, and best supporting actress, Isabella Rossellini.
The Capri Award for Best Screenplay was presented to Sean Baker for “Anora,” and Best Animated Film went to “Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl” by Merlin Crossingham and Nick Park, set to be available on Netflix from January 3. Massimo Cantini Parrini took home the Best Costume Design award for “Maria,” featuring Angelina Jolie, while Diane Warren won for the song “The Journey” performed by H.E.R. from “The Six Triple Eight.”
The festival, founded and produced by Pascal Vicedomini, is supported by the Culture Minister (DG Cinema) and the Campania Region, with special partners including Intesa Sanpaolo, Riflessi, Frecciarossa, and Givova.
