Donnarumma Eyes Premier League Move After PSG Departure

Paris: Gianluigi Donnarumma is aspiring to the Premier League, with several top-flight English clubs showing interest in the Italy keeper following his split from Paris Saint-Germain, his agent Enzo Raiola told Mediaset Sport on Wednesday.

According to Ansa News Agency, Raiola mentioned that some Premier League clubs are making moves for Donnarumma. The league is seen as a step up for the player, given its status as one of the best in the world. Raiola emphasized that after Donnarumma’s experiences in Italy and at PSG, the Premier League could be the right place for a player of his caliber.

Raiola also pointed out the historical significance of an Italian winning the Premier League, noting that so far only Mario Balotelli and Enrico Chiesa have achieved this milestone. The possibility of Donnarumma joining Manchester City was addressed, with Raiola acknowledging the rumors of Pep Guardiola’s interest, though he clarified that there have been no direct conversations with the City manager.

The agent expressed surprise at the current situation, explaining that there was an initial plan for Donnarumma to stay another year in Paris before leaving. Raiola highlighted the importance of the upcoming European Super Cup match, stating that Donnarumma, as a key player in PSG’s recent Champions League victory, deserved to play in the match against Tottenham Hotspur in Udine.
