Doctor Arrested for Assaulting Medical Staff in Piacenza

Piacenza: A doctor who serves as a ward chief in Piacenza was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of sexually assaulting nearly all the female doctors and nurses he encountered.

According to Ansa News Agency, police set up surveillance cameras in his office at Piacenza hospital and his home, recording 32 incidents over 45 days. The police stated in their arrest warrant that the ward chief engaged in sexual acts with almost every woman who entered his office alone.

The investigation faced difficulties due to a climate of omert , or a mafia-like conspiracy of silence, within the hospital department.
