Disappointing 2024 for Stellantis, CEO by Mid-2025: Elkann

Amsterdam: 2024 was disappointing for Stellantis, President John Elkann told the annual shareholders meeting in Amsterdam Tuesday adding that a new CEO to replace Carlos Tavares who quit in December will be named by the middle of this year.

According to Ansa News Agency, President John Elkann addressed the shareholders, acknowledging that 2024 did not meet expectations for Stellantis, the world’s fourth-biggest carmaker. Elkann emphasized that part of the responsibility for the disappointing performance lay with the company itself, which compounded the dissatisfaction with the year’s results.

Elkann also announced that Stellantis is in the process of appointing a new CEO to replace Carlos Tavares, who resigned in December. The new appointment is expected to be finalized by mid-2025, which is aimed at steering the company towards better performance in the coming years.
