Del Vecchio Acquires Twiga Beach Club from Briatore
Milan: Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio’s LMDV Hospitality group has announced the acquisition of the renowned Twiga luxury beach club from Flavio Briatore. The acquisition, revealed by LMDV on Monday, marks a significant expansion in LMDV’s portfolio.
According to Ansa News Agency, the Twiga brand, with its five clubs located in Forte Dei Marmi, London, Montecarlo, Ventimiglia, and Doha, will now merge with the existing restaurants managed by LMDV Hospitality. This strategic move will allow the group to oversee the entire hospitality business seamlessly. Further expanding their footprint, LMDV announced plans to launch a new Twiga in Milan by September.
Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, the President of LMDV Capital and LMDV Hospitality, reiterated the significance of this acquisition. As the son of the late Luxottica eyewear magnate Leonardo Del Vecchio, who passed away in June 2022, he emphasized that Twiga represents more than just an investment. He described the acquisition as a commitment to enhancing and redefining hospitality both in Italy and internationally.
Marco Talarico, the CEO of LMDV Capital and sole administrator of LMDV Hospitality, shared insights into the vision for the new Twiga. He stated that it would integrate restaurants, entertainment, and lifestyle elements to craft iconic destinations. The goal is to set trends and attract a global clientele.
Twiga, originally part of the Majestas group, first launched in 2001 in the upscale Versilia region of Tuscany. Since then, it has grown into an international symbol of luxury hospitality.
