Debate on Italian Design Day 2025 Focuses on Inequalities and Progress in Energy and Nutrition

Vienna: The Day of Italian Design in the World, marking its 9th edition, is centering around the theme ‘Inequalities. How to recompose the fractures of humanity.’ This year’s event holds particular significance as 2025 also marks the 10th anniversary of Expo Milano 2015, a global event that focused on ‘Feeding the Planet. Energy for Life.’ The themes of energy and nutrition remain interconnected, reflecting our engagement with the planet’s resources, their uneven distribution, and alternative sharing models.

According to Ansa News Agency, a debate will take place this evening at 6.30 p.m. at the Italian Cultural Institute in Vienna. Francesco Fresa, co-founder of the PiuArch studio in Milan, and Michael Obrist, partner of the feld72 studio, will address whether progress has been made in the use of energy and nutrition over the past decade. They will also explore the role of architecture and design in enhancing these areas. The event is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with ADI Associazione per il Disegno Industriale. Additionally, it is supported by the Italian Embassy in Vienna and the Vienna ICE Agency.
