Naples: An Italian policeman was fatally stabbed by his partner’s son near Naples during a dispute about a pet parrot that had escaped, police reported on Tuesday. Police inspector Ciro Luongo, aged 58, was killed instantly when attacked by 21-year-old Roberto Marchese.

According to Ansa News Agency, the incident occurred on Monday night, and it was revealed that Luongo and Marchese had a history of arguments. The conflict escalated during a heated discussion over the escaped parrot, leading to the tragic outcome.

The young man fled the scene after the incident but was later apprehended by authorities. He has been charged with murder, marking the culmination of a tense relationship between him and the deceased officer.
