Charles and Camilla Engage with Homeless and GBV Charities at Colosseum

Rome: King Charles and Queen Camilla on Tuesday met with homeless and gender-based violence (GBV) charities during their visit to the Colosseum in Rome.

According to Ansa News Agency, the head of the Binario 95 (Track 95) homeless charity, Alessandro Radicchi, shared that he had an extensive conversation in English with King Charles. Radicchi mentioned that they presented the king with a model house made from recycled supermarket wrapping paper, crafted by the homeless individuals who reside at Rome’s Termini Station.

Radicchi noted that King Charles was very impressed with the gift, stating, “He was very impressed by the gift and told us, ‘my wife will be very happy with it.'”

Representatives from the Differenza Donna anti-gender based violence charity also had the opportunity to speak with the royals, particularly with Queen Camilla. They discussed their work on managing the anti-violence and anti-stalking number of the Cabinet, 1522, as well as their operations involving anti-violence centers and shelters. They expressed gratitude for the royal couple’s letter of support to Gisele Pelicot, a French woman who endured drugging and abuse by her ex-husband and numerous other individuals.
