According to Ansa News Agency, the CGIL condemned the attacks on the flotilla, emphasizing the urgency for the Italian government to take immediate measures to ensure the safety of those aboard the vessels and to support the continuation of the humanitarian mission. The union has pledged its participation in a demonstration at Montecitorio scheduled for 2:00 PM today. The CGIL is also encouraging its members and workers nationwide to engage in various solidarity initiatives.

The union stated that should there be any further attacks, blockades, or seizures of vessels or materials related to the humanitarian effort, it is prepared to call a general strike promptly.
