Cardinals Hold Last Pre-Conclave Talks in Vatican

Vatican City: The Catholic Church’s cardinals are engaging in their final discussions on Tuesday, both during the last general congregation and informally within the Vatican’s corridors, ahead of the Conclave set to commence on Wednesday to elect the successor to Pope Francis.

According to Ansa News Agency, all 133 cardinal electors participating in the Conclave have arrived in Rome, and preparations in the Sistine Chapel are complete for the election of the 267th pontiff. The Church faces this pivotal moment following the death of Pope Francis on April 21, Easter Monday, at the age of 88, concluding his 12-year leadership of the Church.
