Cardinal Zuppi Advocates for Dialogue Over Weapons in Europe
Rome: The logic of weapons must not prevail in Europe, Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, chair of the Italian Bishops Conference (CEI) said Monday lauding the Italian government’s efforts to promote dialogue and peace. “We watch with interest the efforts of the Italian government in its intent to connect the growth of European responsibility to intra-Western dialogue for the search for a just and lasting peace and the indispensable multilateral vision in the resolution of conflicts”, said Zuppi, who is also the papal envoy for Ukraine.
According to Ansa News Agency, Zuppi emphasized that Europe must not be a set of distant institutions and should never give up investing in dialogue as a method for resolving conflicts. He highlighted the importance of not letting the logic of weapons prevail and preventing the narrative of the inevitability of war from taking hold.
