Budget to Up Health Spending, Cut 35% Tax Rate to 33%

Rome: The 2026 draft budget will cut the 35% tax rate to 33% and will allot 2.4 billion euros more to the health sector in 2026, the economy ministry said after a cabinet meeting on the package Tuesday.

According to Ansa News Agency, the budget will also include 3.5 billion euros for low-income households and fighting poverty. These measures reflect the government’s commitment to addressing pressing social issues and supporting vulnerable populations. The changes in tax policy and increased health spending are central pillars of the new fiscal plan, aimed at stimulating economic growth and ensuring accessible healthcare for all citizens.
