Boy, 6, Drowns Near Venice

Venice: A six-year-old boy drowned near Venice. The lifeless body of the child, missing since Monday afternoon in the waters of the Venetian coast of Cavallino Treporti, was located and recovered at 2:45 a.m. by divers.

According to Ansa News Agency, the boy was lying on the sandy seabed, near a breakwater at a depth of two meters. The discovery was made using the sonar equipment provided to the Fire Brigade divers. The Port Authority and the Guardia di Finanza tax police were also on site.
