Berlusconi Family Finalizes Sale of AC Monza to US Firm

Milan: Berlusconi family holding company Fininvest has completed the sale of a controlling 80% stake in Serie B soccer club AC Monza to US investment firm Beckett Layne Ventures (BLV). The transaction, which was finalized on Thursday, marks a significant shift in ownership for the club.

According to Ansa News Agency, the remaining 20% of the club is set to be sold by June 2026. The deal values AC Monza at 45 million euros, highlighting the club’s potential in the competitive landscape of Italian soccer.

Silvio Berlusconi, the late ex-premier and media billionaire, took over AC Monza in 2018 when the team was in the third tier. Under his ownership and the management of Adriano Galliani, who was also the CEO of AC Milan during Berlusconi’s tenure as owner of the seven-time European champions, Monza achieved promotion to the top flight in 2022.

However, the club’s fortunes waned following Berlusconi’s death in 2023, resulting in relegation last season after finishing at the bottom of Serie A. Adriano Galliani has stated that he declined an offer to continue with the club under the new ownership.
