Bence Rétvári: If Brussels wants migrants, it can get them!
If the European Union forces Hungary to admit illegal immigrants, Hungary will offer the migrants to transport them to Brussels for free after completing the European procedure, said the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior and the Vice President of the KDNP at a press conference in Budapest on Friday.
However, the Court of Justice of the European Union imposed a disproportionate, unjust, and gigantic fine on Hungary, with which they want to force the country to let in large numbers of illegal immigrants and to give up its migration policy.
And if the European Union forces Hungary to admit illegal immigrants, then Hungary will offer the migrants to transport them to Brussels for free after completing the European procedure, said Bence Rétvári.
In this regard, he noted that the mayor of Brussels reacted to the proposal in such a way that it would turn the everyday life of the people of Brussels upside down.
And Hungary protects the southern border so that the daily lives of Hungar
ians are not disrupted – said the state secretary in response.
Bence Rétvári emphasized
Since 2015, the Hungarian migration policy has been operating in opposition to the migration policy of the European Union.”
The basis of the Hungarian system is the protection of the external border: you can only enter the country legally, with documents, at the border crossing points, but of course there are also asylum rules that comply with international conventions, the state secretary said.
Bence Rétvári stated that it is outrageous that the European Union does not recognize and financially compensate the activities of the Hungarians, but instead attacks them.
János Kuczik , Deputy National Police Chief of Police, said about the challenges that migration has presented to the police in recent years: illegal immigrants and people smugglers attack them with increasingly crude weapons, damage the border lock and their cars, and with their vehicles in poor technical condition by ignoring traffic rules, they endanger r
oad users.
Since then, however, the southern border fence has been built, the appropriate legal basis for the measures has been created, the number of professional police personnel has been significantly increased, and border hunters have been recruited – reported János Kuczik.
Thanks to everything, they were able to effectively prevent illegal border crossings until 2019, but since then the number of people trying to cross has been increasing every year: in 2022, an average of 740 people tried to cross the border every day, and a total of more than 270,000 people tried to cross the border in one year.
said the deputy chief of police.
János Kuczik also spoke about the challenges that migration has presented to the police in recent years: illegal immigrants and people smugglers attack them with increasingly crude weapons, damage the border lock and their cars, and disregard traffic rules with their vehicles in poor technical condition. they endanger road users.
