Avoid West Splitting Meloni Tells Starmer
London: Premier Giorgia Meloni stressed the importance of averting the West splitting over Ukraine in talks in London Sunday with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer ahead of a summit on Ukraine in the British capital later in the day.
According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni emphasized the need to avoid the risk of division among Western nations as she met Starmer in Downing Street before the London summit on Ukraine and European defence. She highlighted that both the UK and Italy could play crucial roles in building bridges among nations.
The 16-nation summit on Ukraine and European security, convened before Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s public incident at the White House on Friday, focused on a British-French proposal to establish a just and lasting peace plan with initiatives led by a European coalition of willing nations.
