Athletics: Jacobs Clocks 10.44 in Seasonal Debut in 100 m

Turku: Tokyo Olympic 100m and 4x100m champion Marcello Jacobs clocked 10.44 seconds as he came eighth and last in the final of his season-opening meet at Turku in Finland Tuesday.

According to Ansa News Agency, in the heats earlier that afternoon, the Italian athlete finished in fourth place with a time of 10.30 seconds. Despite his efforts, Jacobs was unable to secure a top position in the final race.

The race was won by Britain’s Romell Glave, who finished with a time of 10.08 seconds, outperforming the competition at the meet.
