Armani Tribute from Neapolitan Presepe Artisan
Naples: A tribute to the late Giorgio Armani has been crafted by renowned Neapolitan nativity scene artisan Genny Di Virgilio. In his workshop on Via San Gregorio Armeno, Di Virgilio has created a figurine of the iconic designer, adorned in his signature style of black trousers and a black T-shirt.
According to Ansa News Agency, at the base of the sculpture, which is now displayed alongside both local and international stars, a note reads ‘Ciao Re Giorgio’ (Bye King George). The Armani statuette, crafted using the traditional terracotta “shepherds” technique of Neapolitan nativity scene art, has quickly captured the interest of numerous visitors to the famous street in Naples’ historic center.
