Another Italian Detained at Florida’s Alligator Alcatraz

Miami: Another Italian national has been detained at the notorious ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ migrant-detention center in Florida, as reported by the foreign ministry.

According to Ansa News Agency, the facility, known for its location amidst ‘alligator infested waters’ in the Everglades, had previously held two other Italians. These individuals were detained for several days before being transferred to another center in the state, located at Krome.

The foreign ministry announced on Thursday that one of the previously detained Italians, Fernando Eduardo Artese, has successfully returned to Italy. Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing regarding the case of the other detainee, Gaetano Cateno Mirabella Costa.

On Friday, the ministry expressed its commitment to facilitating the prompt repatriation of the third Italian detainee. They are hopeful that this process can be completed within the coming days.
