Alessio’s Tragic Actions Stemmed from Love, Says Father

Naples: Alessio Tucci, an 18-year-old accused of murdering his 14-year-old ex-girlfriend Martina Carbonaro by striking her with stones, was reportedly in love with her and reacted out of being “overwhelmed” upon seeing her talk to another boy, his father Domenico revealed to reporters amid widespread shock over the latest femicide incident in Italy.

According to Ansa News Agency, Domenico expressed deep regret and sorrow, stating, “I apologize to everyone, we never expected this, we are destroyed.” He further described his son as a “good boy” and mentioned that Martina was like a daughter to him and his wife. “I apologize to the whole world on behalf of my son and our family,” he added.

Domenico explained that Alessio’s actions were not driven by obsession but by love. “Alessio wanted to find out who Martina’s new boyfriend was. He wasn’t obsessed with Martina, he was in love. They were growing up together. Seeing that she was chatting with someone else shocked him,” he said. The incident has sparked a conversation about the growing concern of femicide in Italy.
