890 Work-Related Deaths Reported in First 10 Months of 2023, Says Inail.


Rome: Inail announced that 890 work-related deaths were reported in the first 10 months of this year, reflecting a 2.5% rise compared to the same period in 2023.

According to Ansa News Agency, the national labour accidents and occupation illness insurance agency reported that 657 of these deaths occurred at the workplace, while 233 took place during the commute between home and work. In addition to the fatalities, there were 491,439 work-related accidents reported during the same timeframe, marking a 0.4% increase from the previous year.

The data highlights the ongoing challenges in ensuring workplace safety and the importance of effective measures to prevent accidents and fatalities.
